Mediation

Professional Mediation Services for Divorce, Custody & Employment Disputes

At Jennifer Nelson, PLLC, I help individuals, families, and organizations find resolution without the heavy toll of litigation. With over 20 years in the corporate litigation trenches, I know firsthand that no one really “wins” in litigation — it is often a years-long, exhausting process that drains human and financial resources. That experience has fueled my passion for mediation, where I can help people resolve disputes quickly, fairly, and constructively.

Why Choose Mediation Over Litigation

Litigation can leave both sides feeling depleted, even if one party technically “wins.” Mediation offers a faster, more cost-effective alternative that puts decision-making power back in the hands of the parties involved. Instead of relying on a judge or jury, mediation creates a collaborative environment where everyone is heard and workable solutions are found.

My Mediation Approach

I mediated hundreds of cases in my decades as a litigator, which led me to deeply value both the process and a good mediator.  In my experience, the best mediators have the ability to make everyone feel seen and heard, while still steering the conversation toward a realistic, practical solution that both sides can accept. That balance requires empathy, creative problem-solving, and a sense of humor — all qualities I bring to every mediation. Stepping into the mediator role allows me to channel my litigation experience into helping others resolve their issues, which I consider both a joy and a privilege.

Family Mediation: Divorce & Child Custody

Divorce and custody disputes are often emotionally charged, but they don’t have to become destructive. I create a safe, neutral space where both parties can communicate openly and work toward agreements that prioritize the well-being of everyone involved — especially the children.

Employment & Workplace Mediation

Workplace conflict can affect morale, productivity, and company culture. Through mediation, I help employers, employees, and counsel identify underlying issues, rebuild trust, and reach solutions that keep business operations moving forward.

What to Expect During Mediation

Mediation typically begins with an introductory session where I explain the process and set clear expectations. Each party has the opportunity to share their perspective before we work together to explore solutions. My role is to guide the conversation, keep communication constructive, and help you reach a resolution you can feel good about.

Schedule Your Complimentary Consultation

If you’re ready to move forward, I offer a complimentary consultation to discuss your situation, answer your questions, and explain how mediation can help. Together, we’ll determine whether mediation is the right next step for you.
